It uses a timer to break work into focused intervals (traditionally 25 minutes) separated by short breaks (5 minutes). After completing 4 focus sessions, you take a longer break (15-30 minutes). This approach helps maintain concentration, prevent burnout, and increase productivity by creating a sustainable work rhythm.

Yes! Click the settings icon to customize focus duration (default 25 minutes), short break (default 5 minutes), long break (default 15 minutes), and how many sessions until a long break (default 4). All settings are saved to your browser and persist between sessions.

Yes. The timer plays a sound notification when each session completes. If you grant browser notification permissions, you'll also receive desktop notifications even when the tab is in the background. This ensures you never miss a break or the start of a new focus session.
